A look into the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database shows that Hyatt Place, Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s prolific upscale brand, will expand its global footprint by 11,813 rooms, primarily in North America and APAC.
Hyatt Place is rapidly building its footprint of upscale properties around the world. We find out more about its ambitious expansion plans, with our research indicating that the brand will roll out 65 openings with 11,813 new rooms in the coming years.
Hotel launches by year
In the last few months of 2020 alone, Hyatt Place will launch five more projects with 1,333 rooms. Three of them are already in the pre-opening phase.
For 2021, 30 hotels with 5,114 rooms are due to open their doors to guests. 16 more properties with 2,920 keys are on the cards for 2022, meanwhile, and another 14 are already in the pipeline for 2023 and beyond.
Hyatt Place’s growth by region
North America will see the largest number of new Hyatt Place properties overall – 32 hotels with 4,819 rooms are slated to go live here. APAC follows not far behind in second, with 23 openings and 4,995 rooms on the horizon.
Europe comes in a distant third place with just six ongoing projects, followed by South America with two openings; the Middle East and Africa bring up the rear with one launch each.
In terms of national growth markets, the US takes the lead with 22 new hotels and 3,422 rooms. China comes in second with 14 planned openings and 3,170 keys. Rounding out the top three, Canada boasts a pipeline of seven hotels and 1,000 rooms.
Noteworthy Hyatt Place hotel projects
Vietnam’s first Hyatt Place has been pencilled in for early 2022. The 200-room Hyatt Place Saigon Phu Nhuan in Ho Chi Minh City will benefit from a central location only two kilometres from Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Facilities will include a cafe, a grab-and-go food market, a bar, a lobby lounge, an outdoor pool, a fitness centre and two meeting rooms totalling more than 255 sqm.
Over in Florida, Hyatt Place Tampa will share a 17-storey building with a new Hyatt House property. The hotel will offer 230 guest rooms in a convenient location close to the city hall, the Riverwalk, the Tampa Convention Centre and the Florida Aquarium among others. Its in-house amenities will include a signature grab-and-go coffee shop, as well as meeting facilities and retail space.
Last but not least, Hyatt Place Rouen in northern France will offer 78 rooms, meeting spaces for approximately 100 guests, a state-of-the-art gym, and a swimming pool. Guests will be able to order à la carte at the onsite restaurant – and the Gallery Market will offer grab-and-go meals and snacks around the clock. The hotel will be developed in a former school building located close to businesses, the railway station and the old city centre.
