IHG’s upscale Crowne Plaza brand has officially opened its doors in Adelaide’s towering Frome Central Tower One building, which stands at a dizzying 138 metres tall.
The highly regarded Crowne Plaza flag return has finally returned to South Australia’s capital city.
Crowne-ing glory in Adelaide
Frome Central Tower One is the home of the newest jewel in Adelaide’s hospitality crown. Crowne Plaza Adelaide’s opening ceremony was attended by various high-profile officials, including the minister for finance, trade, tourism and investment; the CEO of the South Australian Tourism Commission; and the Lord Mayor of Adelaide.
Sarah Goldfinch, general manager of Crowne Plaza Adelaide, said: “We are tremendously proud to open Crowne Plaza Adelaide, especially in what has been a challenging year for the team and industry.
“The energy and excitement to welcome guests and offer our true hospitality has been palpable. It is a new era for the Crowne Plaza brand with all new design innovations, and quite the milestone as we join two new openings in Australia this year.”
A vibrant location for a new beginning
Crowne Plaza Adelaide occupies a prestigious location within Frome Central Tower One, a tower set within the buzzing East End of the city. The hotel benefits from expansive views across the city, which can be best enjoyed from the rooftop heated infinity pool on level ten, and boasts 329 well-appointed rooms catering to modern lifestyles.
There are a number of F&B outlets onsite, including Adelaide’s highest restaurant Koomo, a Japanese/Asian dining experience; and Luna 10, a cocktail bar dishing up light bites and sharing plates. Business guests, meanwhile, can avail themselves of 450 sq m of flexible meeting and event space.
Simon Birmingham, minister for finance, trade, tourism and investment, said: “To those who have long dreamt and worked hard to deliver on this site, we extend an enormous thankyou for the risks that you have taken, for the commitment that you have made to Adelaide, South Australia and to Australia by seeing the potential in investment like this.”
