Lake District Hotels to resume refurbishment programme

Lake District Hotels will resume the refurbishment of venues across its portfolio after original plans to transform the buildings were stalled due to Covid-19

Refurbishment work will now resume next spring, as the Cumbrian business looks to take “further advantage” of the growing move towards staycations as a result of the pandemic.

Before lockdown, it completed two projects at the Skiddaw Hotel and the Inn on the Lake, which saw the company create two “contemporary” new ground floors of both venues.

In addition, more work to refurbish bedrooms at the group’s Borrowdale Hotel, which was put on hold as a result of the pandemic will also restart in spring next year.

Kate Simmons, from FWP who headed the refurbishment said: “Lake District Hotels are all about quality and individuality and our designs look to enhance the offering and experience for guests.

“The Graves family pay great attention to detail at all their properties, which is why they have an excellent reputation in the industry.”

She added: “In all our work with the business we work hard to provide them with designs for contemporary bedrooms and public spaces that make a favourable first impression on visitors and make their stay comfortable and enjoyable.

“Our work ensures that bedroom space and natural light is used to the maximum affect and that guests can enjoy accommodation that is also the perfect place to relax and unwind.”
