Qbic to open Manchester hotel

Hotel group Qbic is set to expand its portfolio with a new 261-room Manchester hotel.

Situated in Deansgate, the hotel will feature a 180-cover restaurant, and is set to provide 42 initial staff roles.

Once the establishment is fully operational in March 2021, the firm says employment will rise to 62 members.

Jon Walters, operations director at Qbic, said: “Supporting our local communities is at the core of the Qbic Hotels ethos and we are proud to be creating employment opportunities in the Manchester area with our plans to recruit over 50 roles locally.”

The hotel will also include a ‘waste not’ section for leftover food and drinks as part of a sustainability drive.

Rates for stays will start from £72 per night for a small double room, as the company looks to provide a community-aspect to the centre of Manchester.

Walters added: “It is a difficult time for the hospitality industry globally and locally, but we are confident better times lie ahead and that Qbic Manchester will be at the heart and soul of those better times in this fantastic city.”
