A luxurious new hotel designed by famed architect Pierre-Yves Rochon, The Woodward in Geneva will form part of Oetker Collection’s exclusive portfolio when it opens in spring 2021.
Following the historic transformation of a lakeside landmark, The Woodward is set to become Geneva’s first all-suite hotel, combining stunning design features, restaurants from L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Alain Verzeroli, and a spa by Maison Guerlain.
Owned by Bastion Holdings, this exciting addition to Oetker Collection’s books will soon begin welcoming guests into its newly restored space on the shore of Lake Geneva overlooking Mont Blanc. The building, originally built in 1901 by French architect François Durel in a post-Haussmann style, is currently undergoing a complete transformation courtesy of Rochon.

A lavish new era
Behind the historic facade, guests will soon see classic-meets-contemporary interiors, designed to provide a stylish sanctuary with lake and mountain views.
The 26 suites here, 21 of which have full lake views, have been individually designed to showcase their own character, with signature details like bookcases and marble fireplaces. The most lavish place to stay will be the panoramic lakeview Presidential Suite with loggia and private dining room, along with the Royal Suite, which is designed to resemble a Parisian apartment and is accessed by private lift.
Gastronomy will be a key part of The Woodward experience, with dining concepts provided by Michelin-starred L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Le Jardinier. Chef Olivier Jean, who has spent the past seven years as executive chef of L’Atelier in Taipei, will lead the hotel’s kitchens.
Le Jardinier, a play on the French word for gardener, will be the first European restaurant for chef Alain Verzeroli. Across breakfast, lunch and dinner, this dining spot will offer menus that embrace nature, and be housed within two glass-walled verandas looking out over the lake.
The restaurants are to be joined by two bars, a tea-room and a private digestif lounge, which involves a clever transformation of the building’s former bank vault.
Staying true to Oetker Collection’s commitment to wellness, the hotel will also accommodate a 1,200 sq m spa with a Wellness Institute by Maison Guerlain, the longest pool in Geneva at 21 metres, a state-of-the-art gym, saunas, steam rooms, Swedish baths and a Jacuzzi. And for the ultimate indulgence, premium Guerlain treatments will be offered to guests within the spa’s six wellness suites.
